Booklets are miniature books that are securely bound within a cover. They are an inexpensive way to advertise company products and/or services. They also serve as a practical way to display information about an event, show, or performance.
There are many different sizes for booklets and one of the most common one is the 5.5 x 8.5. Most organizations prefer the 5.5 x 8.5 booklets because it is a bit smaller size and can be handled with ease. Most organizations use this size for event or performance programs. Some restaurants use the 5.5 x 8.5 booklets for their menus and like the smaller size compared to the 8.5 x 11, it adds a more unique touch to their menu. Aside from advertising and exhibiting information, booklets can simply be used as actual small books.
Another common size for booklets is the 8.5 x 11 size. Most businesses prefer the 8.5 x 11 booklets because they can easily tri-fold it and place it in a business envelope, or they can include it in their Presentation Folder along with other marketing tools, such as Sales Sheets or Flyers, showcasing the company’s information.
The minimum page count for booklets is 8 pages, which is 4 pages + cover. Page count increases in increments of four. At Color Depot, you can order your booklets for 8 pages, 12 pages, 16 pages, and so on. Just make sure you are adding pages in increments of four. The reason for this is so that we can stitch the pages together and turn it into a booklet.
Common paper types for booklets are: 100# gloss book self cover, this means the cover of your booklets will be the same paper as the inside, the 100# gloss book. Some prefer thin paper and do this option with the 80# gloss book self cover. Another common paper option for booklets is having the inside pages of your booklet printed on 100# gloss book, while the cover stock is 100# cover, this makes the cover thicker then the inside pages. Similar option can apply to the 80# gloss book for the inside pages and 80# gloss cover for the cover pages.
